Venue

The meeting will take place in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. Warsaw is a city rich in history. Warsaw's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a testament to the city's historical resilience. The Old Town's architecture and cobbled streets display the city's medieval and Renaissance roots. Nowadays, Warsaw stands as a vibrant and dynamic metropolis, characterized by a mixture of modernity and tradition. Warsaw's diverse cultural scene offers a wealth of museums, galleries, theaters, and music venues, making it a hub for art and culture. The city`s green spaces, such as Łazienki Park and the boulevards along the Vistula River, invite you to take a break. Beyond its historical and cultural significance, the city is also economically and politically important, with a thriving entrepreneur network and technology sector.

Our meeting will take place at Hotel Mercure Warszawa Grand. The hotel is centrally located in Warsaw. It is within walking distance of many of the city's attractions, including the historic Old Town, shopping areas, and cultural sites. The hotel is easily accessible from Warsaw Chopin Airport and is well-connected to public transportation.

The currency in Poland is the Polish zloty (PLN). However, Credit and Debit cards are commonly accepted in hotels, shops, taxis, and purchase of tickets for public transportation.

Catering and Excursions

ProteoCure is doing all possible to provide as much of the catering as possible and to pay for the social events for all the participants. However, as we cannot foresee our financial situation, it may be possible that participants need to pay for the conference dinner or for the one or the other excursion on their own.

Warsaw can be reached by car, train, bus and airplane.

  • Arrival by airplane
    • Warsaw Chopin Airport (Lotnisko Chopina w Warszawie), often referred to simply as Chopin Airport, is the primary international airport serving Warsaw. The airport is approximately 10 kilometers southwest of the city center.

      • By public transport: 
        • Bus line 175 from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Krucza 01 operates every 15 min. The bus ride takes about 30 min. The hotel is 6 min by foot away from the bus stop. Costs of ticket: PLN 4.40
        • Warsaw Chopin Airport Railway Station to Warszawa Śródmieście WKD (Warsaw Downtown). Trains and subways operate frequently. The hotel is ~20 min by foot away from the railway station. Costs of ticket: PLN 4.40

  • Arrival by train
    • Warsaw Central Station, known as Warszawa Centralna in Polish, is the primary railway station. Warsaw Central Station is centrally located in the heart of Warsaw and about 20 min by foot away from the hotel.  
  • Arrival by bus
    • Warsaw West Bus Station, also known as Dworzec Autobusowy Warszawa Zachodnia in Polish, is a primary long-distance bus station in Warsaw from where you can catch bus connections to multiple European cities. It takes about 20 minutes by local public transport (bus or local train) to get from Warsaw West Bus Station to the hotel.

    • The hotel is accessible by car. Parking places are limited and paid for in the city center.
